TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - Director of Athletics Ron Prettyman announced today (Sept. 16) that Indiana State Athletics, in conjunction with Nelligan Sports Marketing, and Nexstar Broadcasting Group, have reached a three-year agreement making WTWO and WFXW the flagship television stations for football as well as men's and women's basketball.

"I am pleased to announce that we will be renewing our partnership with Nexstar for the next three years," Prettyman said. "The fine staff (at Nexstar) has proven time and time again that they are committed to quality coverage of Indiana State University and Sycamore Athletics. Their outstanding programming ranges from sports news to exclusive game production of intercollegiate contests to coaches shows is a strong indicator of their commitment to excellence in sports broadcasting. We look forward to increased coverage of sporting events and a strong partnership for many years to come."

The new deal runs through 2012 with the first broadcast under the agreement scheduled for September 26 when ISU takes on Youngstown State in football. All broadcast schedules will be mutually agreed upon by ISU Athletics, Nexstar and Nelligan Sports Marketing. The agreement also includes football and basketball coaches' shows, which will be produced by Indiana State and carried on WTWO or WFXW at a time to be determined. The football coach's show will begin in 2010.

"We are thrilled to renew our TV partnership with Indiana State University," Tim Sturgess, Vice President and General Manager of WTWO said. "It's a natural fit. We are a community minded TV station and market leader in providing excellent local sports coverage. ISU is an integral part of this community and we're pleased to be able to showcase the Sycamore Athletic program to fans throughout the Wabash Valley."

Indiana State University teamed with Nelligan Sports Marketing in July of 2006 to allow the Little Falls, N.J., based company to manage its exclusive athletics marketing rights.
