In his first season as an assistant coach at Indiana State with the football program is Morgan Turner. Turner will work under head coach Trent Miles as well as offensive coordinator Troy Walters as the program's quarterback coach.

Turner has spent the the last several years working in private business in the financial services and real estate law industries.

He was a student coach for the Illinois Fightin Illini during the 2004 season where he was a key member of the staff which was in charge of integrating the playbook into a computer generated format. Turner also analyzed the opposition's defense and coached the Illini defensive scout team.

Last year he worked as the quarterback coach and scout team coordinator for Central High School in Champaign, Ill. Central finished the year with a 5-5 record and advanced to the Illinois State Playoffs.

During the summers of 2003 and 2004 Turner coached the freshman quarterbacks during camp. In addition to creating a playbook for the team's offense, he was the camp's activity coordinator and coached an undefeated team of middle school students to a undefeated championship.

Turner was also a star high school quarterback at Centennial High School in Champaign. He is the son of Chicago Bears' Offensive Coordinator Ron Turner and is the nephew of NFL coaching veteran Norv Turner.
