6 Kelsey Montgomery



As a Junior (2015)


Appeared in 50 games, starting 34...has seen action in both the outfield and at third base, after taking three years off from the infield...drove in the winning run against Evansville to give the Sycamores just their third ever sweep of a conference of five players to have double digit sacrifices on the sesaon...Had an RBI in the MVC Tournament Championship game the Sycamores won to advance to the NCAA Regional.




As a Sophomore (2014)

Appeared in 28 games during her sophomore campaign, starting 24, primarily in the outfield, before a season ending knee injury ended her second season as a Sycamore...At the time of the injury, the sophomore was 37th in NCAA Division 1 in batting average and leading the team at .390...held a .463 on base percentage with nine stolen bases...finished the season with the highest batting average on the team and second in on base percentage.


As a Freshman (2013)

Appeared in 45 games in her first season as a Sycamore, starting 40, primarily as an outfielder...Got her first career hit in her third career game against Northern Colorado...Was second on the team in stolen bases with 16 and fourth on the team in batting average at .237.




Kelsey Montgomery joins Sycamore Softball as a four-year starter at Queen Creek High School in AZ. Montgomery has already been a three-time All-Region, and honorable mention All-State with her senior season yet to come. Last season, as a junior, she led her team in hitting and finished in the top 15 in the state of AZ with an average of .574 compiling 62 hits in 31 games and 19 stolen bases. Kelsey has also spent the last three seasons as a member of the 18U AZ Hotshot Gold-Householder club ball team as their leadoff hitter and outfielder. As a sophomore, she was a recipient of the "Victory of Honor Award", given to those that display leadership, respect, and trust by the teacher and coaching staff.



Her parents are Martha and Dan Montgomery and has four brothers and sisters, Karli, Michelle, Jason and Phillip. Montgomery also enjoys snowboarding and going to the lake.

"Kelsey is a tough, speedy slapper who will always put pressure on the defensive.  She brings experience from competing against the nation's best and fits into our aggressive style of softball, which will be fun to watch."
