Cross Country –

2012 – Competed in the Bradley Open, running the three mile course in 21:31 to finish 72nd.

Indoor Track & Field –

2013 – Named All-Conference in Pentathlon … scored a career best 3,691 points in placing third at MVC Indoors, second best in school history … established career bests of 8.94 in 60 meter hurdles, 18’-7.75” (5.68m) in long jump, and 2:25.33 in 800 meters while clearing season best 5’-3” (1.60m) in high jump and throwing season best 32’-8.25” (9.96m) in shot put during Pentathlon … placed second in Pentathlon at Jake Jennett Invite … had a season best distance of 36’-4.25” (11.08m) in placing 16th in triple jump at MVC Indoors.

2012 – Competed in long jump and pentathlon … recorded second most pentathlon points in school history with 3,558 points at EIU Early Bird … placed eighth in pentathlon at MVC Indoors (3,338) and 14th in long jump (18’-3”) … set career bests of 9.13 in 60 meter hurdles, 18’-3” (5.56 meters) in long jump and 2:27.39 in 800 meters in EIU Early Bird pentathlon … had season best throw of 32’-10.5” (10.02 meters) in shot put at EIU Early Bird and leap of 5’-3” (1.60 meters) in high jump at MVC Indoors.

2011 – Competed in high jump, long jump, triple jump, and Pentathlon … placed eighth in Pentathlon at MVC Indoor Championships with 3,322 points … placed 17th in high jump at MVC Indoors (4’-11.75”/1.52 meters) … recorded the third best point total in school history in finishing second in Pentathlon at Grand Valley Big Meet with 3,408 points … had personal bests of 5’-5.25” (1.66 meters) in high jump and 36’-4.75” (11.09 meters) in triple jump at Terre Haute Double Dual, 17’-9” (5.41 meters) in long jump at Wisconsin Women’s Invitational, 32’-11.75” (10.095 meters) in shot put at Tiger Invitational, 9.37 in 60 meter hurdles at EIU Early Bird, and 2:29.91 in 800 meters at Grand Valley Big Meet.

Outdoor Track & Field –

2013 – Scored 4,936 points in the Heptathlon at MVC Outdoors, second most in school history, to finish fourth … established collegiate best in 200 meters (26.24) and 800 meters (2:23.93) in MVC Heptathlon … had season bests in 100 meter hurdles (14.67), high jump (5’-3”/1.60 meters),. long jump ( 19’-0”/5.79 meters) and javelin (101’-3”/30.86 meters) during MVC Heptathlon … placed seventh at MVC Outdoors in long jump at  18’-7.25” (5.67 meters) … threw season best 31’-2.5” (9.51 meters) in shot put at Rose-Hulman.

2012 – Competed in 100 hurdles, high jump, long jump, javelin, and heptathlon … scored third most heptathlon points in school history with 4,772 points at EIU Big Blue Classic … placed fourth in long jump at MVC Outdoors with eighth best distance in school history of 19’-2.5” (5.85 meters) … placed fifth in heptathlon at MVC Outdoors with 4,460 points … cleared career best 5’-5” (1.65 meters) in  high jump at Pacesetter Quadrangular … ran 10th fastest 100 meter hurdles at 14.39 during MVC Outdoors heptathlon … threw 10th best javelin throw at 114’-1” (34.78 meters) at EIU Big Blue Classic heptathlon … also had career bests of 26.37 in 200 meters an 2:24.39 in 800 meters at MVC Outdoors heptathlon … ran third leg of 4x100 shuttle hurdle relay that set school record at 57.21 in placing third at Drake Relays … named to MVC Track & Field Scholar Athlete Team.

2011 – Placed fourth in the heptathlon at the MVC Outdoor Championships by scoring 4,609 points, third best in school history … had personal bests of 27.14 in 200 meters, 2:28.50 in 800 meters, 15.12 in 100 meter hurdles, 5’-3” (1.60 meters) in high jump, 17’-10.75” (5.45 meters) in long jump, 31’-6” (9.60 meters) in shot put, and 109’-9” (33.49 meters) in javelin … placed 15th in the heptathlon at the USA Junior Outdoor Track & Field Championships with 4,445 points.

Before ISU –

Competed in track & Field all four years at Bloomington High School … also competed in diving two years and cheerleading three years … named 2009 All-State in triple jump, high jump, 100 hurdles, and 300 hurdles … named 2010 All-State in triple jump, long jump, high jump, and 100 hurdles … team was runner-up at 2010 2A IHSA state championships ... named team Most Valuable Player in 2009 and 2010 … set school records in high jump, triple jump, and 100 hurdles.

Personal –

Kelly Ann Steffen was born on March 13, 1992, in Bloomington, Ill., the daughter of Mitch and Annmarie Steffen … majoring in Math Education at Indiana State with plans to become a math teacher and coach … member ISU Honors Program … interests include sports, friends, pool, family, and vacation … sister, Paige, is a member of the track & field team at Drake University.
