Indoor Track & Field –

2013 – Competed in the 400, 500, and 600 meters during season … ran career best 51.04 in 400 meters at Grand Valley State Big Meet … posted career best 1:08.78 in 500 meters at Meyo Invitational … had season best 1:26.93 in 600 meters at Indiana Relays.

2012 – Did not compete.

2011 – Competed in 400 meters, 600 meters and 60 meter hurdles … ran personal best of 50.39 in 400 meters at Tiger Invitational, 8.66 in 60 meter hurdles at EIU Early Bird, and 1:24.07 in 600 meters at Wisconsin Elite Invitational … ran third leg of distance medley relay team that finished fourth at MVC Indoor Championships in 10:14.08 … ran fourth leg of 4x400 meter relay team that ran 3:18.76 at Tiger Invitational.

Outdoor Track & Field –

2012 – Named All-Conference in 4x400 Relay … ran third leg of 4x400 relay that placed third at MVC Outdoors in 3:13.86 … ran a season best 53.50 in 400 meter hurdles to finish sixth in finals at MVC Outdoors after running 54.14 in preliminary round.

2011 – Placed fifth in 400 hurdles at MVC Outdoors with personal best time of 53.44 … member 4x400 shuttle hurdle relay that ran 3:38.67 at Big Blue Classic.

Before ISU –

Earned 10 letters in track & field, football, and basketball at Lowell High School … two-time All-State selection … placed second at 2010 state meet in 300 hurdles and fourth as member of 4x400 meter relay … nine-time All-Northwest Crossroads conference first team selection … 2010 Sectional and Regional champion in 110 hurdles, 300 hurdles, and as member of 4x400 meter relay … three-time Most Valuable Player selection … set school records in 110 hurdles (14l79), 300 hurdles (38.00), and as member of 4x400 relay (3:17.6).

Ray Anthony Skamay was born on Apr. 2, 1992, in Crown Point, Ind., the son of Ray and Peggy Skamay … majoring in Elementary/Special Education at Indiana State … interests include guitar, music, and running.
