TERRE HAUTE, IN – The Indiana State vs. Illinois baseball game is back on but this time the game will be played at Illinois Field on the campus of the University of Illinois in Urbana, IL. Action will begin at 4:30 p.m. (ET) Wednesday.

Josh Varno (0-1) will get his second start of the season for the Sycamores and will go up against the Fighting Illini’s Aaron Martin. Varno has appeared in 10 games this season with his one loss coming at Missouri as the Sycamores were edged 9-8 in the first game of a twinbill on March 9.

Tuesday’s postponement was the second time this season that the Sycamores have tried to open their home season. On March 5, the Sycamores were set to host the Indiana Hoosiers at Sycamore Field but that game was called due to weather.

Indiana State has played in windy conditions, cold, rain, sleet and snow so far this season as the unusual spring weather conditions continue to cause havoc with games and practices.

Illinois also has had their problems with the weather with six contests cancelled by weather including an entire four-game series at Texas Tech that was called because of snow.

The Sycamores, 5-12 on the season, will be playing their second Missouri Valley Conference series of the season this weekend when they visit Bradley University in Peoria, IL.
