TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Due to persistent rain in the Wabash Valley, Saturday’s baseball game has been postponed until Sunday afternoon. The game will resume at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday.

Indiana State and Evansville played through steady rain until the seventh inning on Saturday before the umpires called for the pitching mound to be covered due to heavier precipitation. The Purple Aces lead the game by a 1-0 score, using a two-out solo home run by Chris Pearson to take the lead in the third inning.

When the game resumes, Evansville will have a runner on first base with no outs in the top of the seventh inning.

Junior Sean Manaea pitched four innings in the rain on Saturday, allowing two hits and one run with five strikeouts and four walks. The Wanatah, Ind., native tied current St. Louis Cardinals bullpen coach Blaise Ilsley for fourth on Indiana State’s career strikeouts list on Saturday, pushing his career total to 274 Ks.
