TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – As the Indiana State baseball program battles for a Missouri Valley Conference championship this, head coach Lindsay Meggs has added a new contributor for next season in junior-college standout Zach Gallagher (Camas, Wash./Columbia Basin College). Gallagher, a 5’11” right-handed starting pitcher, has dominated hitters while playing for the Hawks at
In 2008, Gallagher teamed with current Sycamore Luke Fieser to help the Hawks to a 38-17 overall record under head coach Scott Rogers. Gallagher posted a 9-2 record with a 2.42 ERA in 19 games played while striking out 54 batters in 67 innings of work.
“Zach has the ability to step in next year and be a weekend starter,” Meggs said. “He throws three pitches for strikes, pounds the strike zone and is somebody you can count out to go out there time and time again to get you into the seventh inning. He will be a great addition to our pitching staff."
