EVANSVILLE, Ind. – Three Indiana State women’s soccer players earned All-MVC honors and three earned spots on the All-Freshman team at the conference awards banquet at Eykamp Hall on Thursday evening.

Senior defender Shelby Troyer, sophomore midfielder Kate Johnson and freshman forward Abby Reed each picked up First-Team All-MVC honors.

Troyer, a senior defender, picks up her first All-MVC honors of her season after earning a spot on the honorable mention team the last two seasons. The Elida, Ohio native has started all 17 games for the Sycamores this season and has recorded an assist. In addition, Troyer helps anchor the ISU defense that has posted four shutouts on the season.

Johnson and Reed each earn their first All-MVC honors as the duo leads the Sycamores in points on the season. Reed currently leads with 20 points on nine goals and two assists while Johnson follows closely behind with 18 points on seven goals and four assists.

Three freshman have earned spots on the All-Freshman team as goalie Brittany San Roman, defender/midfielder Maddie Orf and Abby Reed all earned spots on the All-Freshman squad.

San Roman has seen a majority of time in goal for ISU, holding a 7-6-0 record with a .750 save percentage. She also has 57 saves and has posted three shutouts in her rookie season.

Orf has come on strong in her first season in the Blue and White with two goals in her rookie season and plays a key role on defense.

The No. 2 seed Sycamores face No. 6 seed Drake in semifinal action tomorrow at 4:36 p.m. ET at Black Beauty Field in Evansville. The game will be broadcast live online at Valley Live.
