The Indiana State University Student Athlete Advisory Committee’s annual SAAC/Athletics Food Drive included the participation of two Vigo County School Corporation elementary schools in 2012 with Fuqua and Dixie Bee. Combined, the two schools donated an estimated eight barrels of food.
For the third straight year, Fuqua was the winning school and there was a tie for the top donating class. Mrs. Jacobs’ and Mrs. Yocum’s third-grade classes alone contributed a total of 848 cans!
As a reward, these classes had a special lunch with ISU student-athletes and received tickets to an ISU basketball game. Following lunch, the student-athletes held a question and answer session with the children.
