BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Junior Anna Munn scored 16 points and sophomore Rachel Mahan grabbed 11 rebounds but the Indiana State women's basketball team (2-1) fell 60-48 at the hands of in-state rival Indiana (2-1) Friday in Bloomington.

The Sycamores found themselves in an early hole as the Hoosiers started the game on a 10-2 run over the first six minutes, broken up only by sophomore Jessica Valley's jumper.

Indiana State did not stay down long thanks to back-to-back three-pointers by Valley and Munn, which cut the Hoosier lead to 10-8 with just over 13 minutes left in the first half.

Later in the half, the Sycamores found themselves trailing Indiana 21-15 when a 3-pointer by Munn, single free throws by senor Taylor Whitley and sophomore Travecia Franklin followed by a Marina Laramie bucket gave the Sycamores their first lead of the game at 22-21.

The Hoosiers came back to retake the lead and at halftime, the Sycamores trailed the Hoosiers 33-30.

Munn led the Sycamores with 13 first half points off three, 3-pointers.

Both teams picked up their defensive intensity in the second half with no offensive baskets being made by either team at the first media timeout. The Sycamores got their first bucket of the second half on a Whitley layup to cut the Hoosier lead to 38-34 with just over 13 minutes remaining in the game.

The Hoosier offense then began to gain some momentum and went on a 7-0 run after another Sycamore layup to take a 45-36 lead over the Sycamores, one they would not give up.

The Sycamores battled all the way down to the final buzzer before eventually falling 60-48 at Indiana.

Despite battling foul trouble for much of the game, Munn led the team offensively with 16 points while Mahan added a team high 11 rebounds. Whitley added eight points and Valley recorded seven, including the first five of the contest.

The Sycamores will return to action Tuesday when they travel to face the Jaguars of IUPUI in Indianapolis, Ind.
