HAUTE, Ind. - The Missouri Valley Conference released
the dates for the 18 conference games during the upcoming women's basketball
season today (August 30), completing the Indiana State schedule that was
partially released earlier this month.
Indiana State will play one exhibition game before the regular season starts,
hosting Bellarmine on Friday, Nov. 2. The regular season begins with a pair of
home games, as the Sycamores host Eastern Illinois on Friday, Nov. 9, and Marshall
on Monday, Nov. 12.
The Sycamores hit the road for back-to-back games before Thanksgiving, as Indiana
State travels to Bloomington, Ind., to face the Indiana Hoosiers on Friday,
Nov. 16, before facing IUPUI in Indianapolis on Tuesday, Nov. 20. Following the
holiday, Indiana State returns to Hulman Center to face Belmont on Sunday, Nov.
25, before wrapping up November with a road contest at Saint Louis on Thursday,
Nov. 29. Sunday's game with Belmont will be part of a doubleheader with the
men's team.
December begins with a pair of home games for Indiana State, as the Sycamores
entertain Northern Illinois on Tuesday, Dec. 4, and UIC on Friday, Dec. 7.
Indiana State closes out the nonconference season with three games in seven
days, traveling to UT Martin (Sunday, Dec. 16) and Butler (Saturday, Dec. 22)
sandwiched around their final nonconference home game against Chicago State
(Tuesday, Dec. 18).
Of Indiana State's five road games in nonconference play, four (Indiana, IUPUI,
Saint Louis and Butler) are within three hours of Terre Haute.
The Sycamores open MVC play with home games against Bradley (Friday, Jan. 4)
and Northern Iowa (Sunday, Jan. 6), before hitting the road to Drake (Friday,
Jan. 11) and Creighton (Sunday, Jan. 13).
Indiana State's next home game comes against Southern Illinois on Thursday,
Jan. 17, a game that will be featured as part of the MVC TV Network. For the
second time in the 2012-13 season, the men's and women's basketball teams will
compete in a doubleheader, this time on Saturday, Jan. 19, when the Evansville
Purple Aces bring both their men's and women's teams to Hulman Center.
The Sycamores close out January with a road game at Illinois State on Friday,
Jan. 25, before opening February with a road swing to Missouri State (Friday,
Feb. 1) and Wichita State (Sunday, Feb. 3).
The remaining home games in Indiana State's 2012-13 schedule are: Creighton
(Friday, Feb. 8), Drake (Sunday, Feb. 10), Illinois State (Sunday, Feb. 24),
Missouri State (Friday, March 1) and Wichita State (Sunday, March 3). Remaining
games away from Terre Haute are: at Evansville (Thursday, Feb. 14), at Southern
Illinois (Saturday, Feb. 16), at Northern Iowa (Thursday, March 7) and at
Bradley (Saturday, March 9).
