TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Indiana State Sycamores completed their second scrimmage of preseason camp on a beautiful Saturday afternoon at Memorial Stadium.
Indiana State was divided into offense and defense with each unit's first teams going against each other while the backups battled each other on alternating drives.
The first team offense was led by Mike Perish, who went 7-of-9 passing for 82 yards and a touchdown. Perish's touchdown was a four-yard pass to Michael Mardis. Richie Dyer handled most of the carries for the first team offense and had 28 yards on 15 attempts.
The second team offense was led by Robert Tonyan, Jr., who was 9-of-17 for 145 yards and a touchdown with an interception as well. Tyler Evans amassed 18 yards on 14 carries for the second team.
Taje High led the team with 50 yards receiving on two receptions. Tanner Riley had two catches for 47 yards while Jerry Stephen posted four receptions for 42 yards. Mardis tallied four catches for 30 yards with one touchdown.
Lucas Hileman punted eight times, for an average of 42.63 yards per kick. Othniel Harvey posted an inteception and Zakee Bashir had a fumble recovery.
Tanner Fritschle missed a 41-yard field goal on the last play from scrimmage, before hitting another attempt from the same spot. Both Fritschle and Eric Heidorn alternated attempts from 41 and 31 yards out.
Indiana State will enjoy a day off on Sunday before returning to the field for a pair of practices on Monday, August 20 at 10 a.m. & 6:30 p.m.
