NASSAU, BAHAMAS - The Indiana State Sycamores made it a perfect 2-0 on their foreign tour of the Bahamas with a 116-75 victory over the Real Deal Shockers at the Kendal Isaacs Gym on Monday night.
Junior Dawon Cummings led the way for Indiana State with 18 points, hitting a trio of 3-pointers and scoring 12 points in the first quarter.
Also in double figures for ISU were Khristian Smith, Manny Arop and Justin Gant who had 12 points each. Brandon Burnett tallied 10 points for the Sycamores.
ISU opened the game on a 5-0 run, then gave up nine a row to fall behind 9-5. The Sycamores would go on to score the game's next eight points to lead 13-9 and would lead the rest of the way.
Jake Kitchell tallied 11 rebounds for the second consecutive night to go with his eight points.
Overall, ISU hit 54 percent of their shots from the field (48-of-89) and were 7-of-17 from 3-point range.
The Sycamores dominated the glass against the undersized Shockers by a 55-31 margin.
The game was played a fast pace with the Sycamores running the court with the Shockers. Both teams were looking for shots early in the shot clock and ISU made effective use of the transition game.
Brandon Burnett made the play of the weekend as followed up a Cumming 3-point miss by flying in from deep with a two-handed follow through dunk over traffic in the second half to score his 10th point of the night.
Indiana State returns to action on Tuesday night against the PJ Stringers at 9:30 p.m. (ET) to wrap up the tour.
