TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Indiana State football team received 51 votes in The Sports Network/Fathead.com FCS Top 25 poll as announced today by the national wire service. With the 51 votes, the Sycamores are ranked No. 42 in the poll.
Additionally, the Missouri Valley Football Conference announced its television plans for the first two months of the season with the Sycamores appearing on Valley Live in its September 24 home contest against Youngstown State. ISU will also appear on ESPN3.com as part of the MVFC package in its road contest against Illinois State on October 22.
Valley Live is the league's new digital network, which will be shown on the league's website, valley-football.org. The Sycamores' game against Youngstown State is part of a three-game package for the conference. The streams will be available free of charge.
ISU's season opener at Penn State will appear on the Big Ten Network while the Homecoming contest on October 15 against Western Illinois will be televised locally on WTWO-TV.
The MVFC has two additional broadcast windows for the first two Saturdays in November on ESPN3.com and the games selected for those broadcasts will be announced on Oct. 10 by the league office.

All nine of the teams in the league at least received votes in The Sports Network/Fathead.com FCS Top 25. League preseason favorite Northern Iowa leads the way with a No. 7 national ranking while North Dakota State is No. 11 and Southern Illinois is No. 19.
Joining the Sycamores in the receiving votes category is Western Illinois (247 votes, No. 30), South Dakota State (40 votes, No. 44), Youngstown State (28 votes, No. 45), Illinois State (12 votes, No. 53) and Missouri State (2 votes, No. 65).
The Sycamores open the season on Sept. 3 at Noon (ET) at Penn State. ISU will host the annual Blue/White Scrimmage on Saturday, Aug. 20 at Noon inside Memorial Stadium.
