Vigo County Aquatic Center Making Progress on Completion

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Vigo County Aquatic Center, which will be the new home of Indiana State Swimming and Diving beginning in 2016-17, is well on its way to being a completed project.

“The project is really coming along well they have almost finished up the entire pool itself and they're completing work on the deck,” Indiana State women's swimming and diving head coach Matt Leach said. “It's looking great and I've had a few opportunities to go out to Voorhees Park and see it for myself.”

Eyed for a December 2015 finish date, the $9.8 million dollar facility will feature a 50-meter by 25-yard Olympic sized poll, a diving well, therapy pool and seating for 350 people.

When it makes its debut in 2016-17, the Indiana State women's swimming and diving program will compete as a member of the Missouri Valley Conference.

“There has been a tremendous amount of support from the community and Vigo County Schools on the addition of the new program at Indiana State,” Leach said. “I'm really excited for the opportunity to have our team use the facility very soon.”
