EUGENE, ORE. – Indiana State junior Greggmar Swift will have one more race for Indiana State this outdoor season as he advanced on time to the finals of the men's 110 meter hurdles at the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championships Thursday.

Swift had a good start and led Texas A&M junior Wayne Davis II and Kentucky senior Keith Hayes over the first two hurdles. Davis and Hayes caught Swift over the last hurdles and automatically qualified for the finals with Davis winning in 13.25 and Hayes second in 13.32. Swift ran 13.51 to finish third and was just ahead of Colorado State junior Trevor Brown who finished in 13.55.

The Sycamore junior had to wait out the final two heats of the 110 meter hurdles to see if he would advance to the finals which will be run at 6:16 p.m. (ET) Saturday. Swift did have the fastest time of the non-automatic qualifiers with Brown also advancing.

Also advancing was Clemson senior Spencer Adams, winner of the third heat in 13.24, Oregon sophomore Johnathan Cabral, winner of the second heat in 13.46, Florida junior Eddie Lovett, second in the third heat in 13.29, and Syracuse sophomore Donald Pollitt, second in the second heat in 13.55.

Sycamore senior Brandon Pounds concluded his Indiana State career Thursday afternoon with a 16th place finish in the men's hammer throw. Pounds earned his second straight All-American recognition with a throw of 203'-3” (61.95 meters) but was not able to advance to the final round of throws. He finished fifth a year ago with a then-school record distance of 212'-1” (64.66 meters). He broke that mark earlier this season and set the new standard at Indiana State of 215'-2” (65.58 meters) at the Billy Hayes Invitational.

Virginia Tech freshman Tomas Kruzliak claimed the NCAA title in the event with a distance of 227'-3” (69.26 meters) USC junior Remy Conaster was second at 224'-1” (68.30 meters) with Florida senior Jeremy Postin third at 224'-0” (68.29 meters).

Senior Nicole Hope will compete in the women's pole vault on Friday with senior Felisha Johnson going in the women's shot put on Saturday.
