TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - The Indiana State
women's soccer team will be hosting four camps this spring and summer,
beginning with a Spring Prospect Camp on March 30 before a trio of camps take
place in June and July.
Spring Prospect Camp - Saturday, March 30 - 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Indiana State will be offering a spring prospect camp for girls ages 14-17
years of age. This one day camp has been designed to show campers the demands
of college soccer. Participants will be instructed through technical work along
with tactical ideas during play. All campers will have the chance to play in
both small-sided and full field environments.
In the middle of our camp we will talk with all prospects about the recruiting
process, Indiana State University and what being a college athlete is all
about. There will be time for questions and all campers are encouraged to
participate. Players will be coached by Indiana State University soccer staff
and current ISU players. Certified athletic trainers will be present.
Youth Soccer Camps - June 17-21 and July 22-26 - 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
From fun introductory sessions for the youngest players, to intensive technical
and tactical sessions for advanced players, all players are grouped by age and
ability to ensure the optimal balance of fun, challenge and skill development.
All camp sessions prioritize individual ball skills as well as fun games to put
those skills to practice and develop teamwork. Players are encouraged to
express themselves in order to develop confidence and creativity on the field.
The Indiana State Youth Soccer Camp curriculum will include individual skill
instructions, demonstrations by players and coaches from surrounding colleges,
daily competitions, small-sided games and daily scrimmages.
High School Team Camp - July 11-13
The High School Team camp is designed for high school or club teams that are
interested in developing certain aspects of the game before the start of the
2013 High school season. This three-day, two-night camp will be designed around
high school coaches needs. Each team will have at least two training sessions,
1-2 games a day, speed and agility training, sports psychology training and
College Prep Seminar.
College Prep Summer Camp - July 18-20
Indiana State's summer college prep camp is a three day camp that is designed
for the dedicated soccer player. It is ideal for those players who have
aspirations to compete at the college level. The camp will provide a
challenging training environment and give players the opportunity to experience
a NCAA Division 1 training program.
The camp will include training sessions run by highly qualified coaches, a
college coach panel, sports psychologist sessions, and competitive full sided
games.
Players will be developing their individual skills, knowledge of the game,
technical ability, and speed development throughout the week. The combination
of local college coaches, collegiate players, and experienced staff will help
encourage creativeness and development in all high-school aged players. Each
day will include individual ball work, functional training, speed training,
small-sided games, and evening scrimmages.
