TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Indiana State
junior McCall Christopher has been named the Missouri Valley Conference Women's
Golfer of the Week the league office announced Wednesday.
Christopher
recorded her second career top five finish while leading the Sycamore
women's golf team to their second tournament title of the 2012-2013 season this
week, firing a 36-hole total of 156 to finish second at the BSC Ann Rhoads
Invitational in Birmingham, Ala.
The junior opened with a
77 in the first round on Sunday and came back with a 79 in Monday's second
round to lead the Sycamores with a 156 total. Christopher tied for first but
lost in a playoff at the 2011 Payne Stewart Memorial in her only other top five
finish.
Christopher now has 13
top 20 finishes in her career including five in the top 10. She was named to
the All-Tournament team along with teammates Reece Feducia (third) and Emily
Dixon (tied fourth).
