Manaea has been named the starting pitcher for the West Division of the Cape
Cod League (CCL) which takes place in Harwich Point, Massachusetts on Saturday,
Manaea has posted stellar numbers this summer with the Hyannis Harbor Hawks, leading the CCL in strikeouts (66) and innings pitched (37.2) while walking just six batters all season. The Indiana State southpaw has a 3-1 record on the mound and ranks third in the league with a 1.67 ERA, allowing just 18 hits and seven earned runs in six starts and one bullpen appearance.
Over his last three starts, Manaea is 3-0 and has tallied 37 strikeouts in 20 innings without walking a batter while opponents have just 10 hits and one earned run.
Manaea's 66 strikeouts this season are the most in the CCL since Brandon Workman totaled 67 during the 2008 season. The CCL record for strikeouts in a single summer is held by Paul Mitchell, who tallied 126 strikeouts for Falmouth in the summer of 1969.
