HAUTE, Ind. - Head coach Erika True has announced the
2012 Indiana State women's soccer schedule today (July 16). The Sycamores will
play nine home matches this upcoming fall, including Missouri Valley Conference
contests against UNI, Creighton and Drake.
Indiana State will take part in a pair of exhibition matches before the regular
season begins, traveling to Northern Kentucky on Aug. 7 and Bowling Green on
Aug. 11. The Sycamores will play four of their first five matches of the 2012
season at home, beginning with their season opener against SIU Edwardsville on
Aug. 17, at 7:00 p.m. After a road contest at Butler on Aug. 24, ISU plays
three straight games at home against IPFW (Aug. 26), Eastern Illinois (Aug. 31)
and Murray State (Sept. 2).
The Sycamores travel to Las Vegas, Nev., for the UNLV Nike Invitational on
Sept. 7-9. ISU will play neutral site games against Montana (Sept. 7) and
Sacramento State (Sept. 9). Indiana State returns to their home state the following
week, playing road games at Indiana (Sept. 12) and IUPUI (Sept. 14) before
starting a three-game homestand against Miami (Ohio) on Sept. 14.
ISU opens MVC play the following Friday night, hosting UNI on Sept. 21 at 7:00
p.m. The three-game homestand wraps up against Loyola (Chicago) on Sept. 23.
The Sycamores close out their nonconference schedule on Sept. 30 with a road
contest at Green Bay.
Indiana State's final five games of the season are all within league play, as
the Sycamores host Creighton (Oct. 5) before traveling to Illinois State (Oct.
14) and Evansville (Oct. 17). ISU plays their final regular season home game on
Oct. 21 against Drake at 1:00 p.m. before the regular season ends at Missouri
State on Oct. 25.
The 2012 MVC Tournament begins on Oct. 28 with a pair of games
played on campus sites. The semifinals and championship will be played the
following weekend (Nov. 2-4) in Omaha, Neb.
Indiana State returns 15 letterwinners and welcomes 12 newcomers to their 2012
roster. ISU brings back five starters from last year's team, in: seniors Casey
Allbright and Kourtney Vassar, junior Shelby Troyer and sophomores Sadie Bauserman
and Natalie Vaught.
