SAN ANTONIO, Texas - The Indiana State baseball team defeated tournament-host Notre Dame for the second consecutive day, winning their 11^th straight game overall en route to sweeping the 2012 Irish Baseball Classic with a 6-1 victory at Nelson Wolff Stadium in San Antonio, Texas.

Indiana State (16-4) plated three runs in the second inning to grab the early lead, taking advantage of an error to get on the board before junior Casey McCurdy drove in two with a triple into the right field corner.

ISU and Notre Dame (10-7) both scored runs in the fifth, with ISU taking a 4-1 lead on a two-out single through the right side of the infield by redshirt junior Koby Kraemer.

The Sycamores left the bases loaded in the seventh, but added two more runs in the eighth on a two-out single into the right-center field gap by sophomore Tyler Wampler.

Freshman Kyle Rupe (4-0) earned the victory, allowing just one run on three hits over 6.2 innings with a pair of strikeouts. Senior Chris Machado recorded the save, closing out the final 2.1 innings with two strikeouts.

McCurdy led ISU in the championship game with a 3-for-4 day at the plate with two RBIs. Wampler also drove in two with his single in the eighth.

Indiana State's 11-game winning streak is their longest since the 2003 season when the Sycamores won 13 consecutive games.

The Sycamores travel to Missouri on Wednesday, facing the Tigers at 4:00 p.m. (ET), before opening Missouri Valley Conference play at Evansville next weekend.
