2015 Brenda Howell Spirit Award


As a Senior (2014-15) – Played in 24 games, making 22 starts … missed six games due to an ankle injury … led the Sycamores in steals and was fourth in the MVC with 2.3 steals per game (57 total) … averaged 2.9 points and 2.1 rebounds per game … played one of her best games against ETSU where she picked up a career-high six steals to go along with a season-high eight points, four rebounds and two steals … grabbed a season-high five rebounds in a win over Indiana … dished out a season-high five assist in the Sycamores’ victory at then No. 25 St. John’s … also had a career-high three blocks in a win at Butler … earned the Brenda Howell Spirit Award which honors an ISU player each season for a passion for the game and classroom.


As a Junior (2013-14) – Played in 30 games, making 10 starts … second on the team in steals (57) and third in assists (49) … pulled down 58 rebounds … scored a season-high eight points against Southern Illinois … picked up a career-high five steals against Southern Illinois … dished out a season-high five assists at Stetson … grabbed a season-high seven rebounds at nationally ranked LSU … went 19-for-70 from the floor (.271) … started 10 consecutive games from Marshall to Illinois State (11/24/13-1/12/14) … played a season-high 29 minutes at Marshall. 


As a Sophomore (2012-13) - Saw action in all 31 games, including a trio of starts … started games against Belmont, Creighton and Youngstown State in the Postseason WNIT … averaged 3.8 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game … double-figure scorer in four games this season, posting 13 points at UNI 12 points vs. UNI in the MVC Tournament, 10 points at Youngstown State in the WNIT and 10 points at Drake … pulled down a season-high nine rebounds at YSU in ISU’s first trip back to the postseason since 2005-06 … third on the team with 41 steals this season … tied for third on the team with 58 assists … tallied a season-high four assists in seven separate games … went for five steals against Chicago … finished the season on a strong note, averaging 9.5 points and 5.5 rebounds over ISU’s final four games.


As a Freshman (2011-12) - Played in all 31 games as a freshman, including 16 straight starts from Nov. 13 through Jan. 14 ... averaged 3.8 points, 3.1 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game as a rookie ... made her collegiate debut against Detroit in the Preseason WNIT, knocking down one shot and pulling down one rebound in 15 minutes ... made her first career start at nationally-ranked Notre Dame, going for three points, four rebounds and four assists ... pulled down a season-high seven rebounds against IUPUI while also scoring seven points ... filled up the box score against UT Martin, totaling two points, five rebounds, four assists, a season-high two blocks and one steal ... dished out a season-high of five assists in ISU's 75-59 victory at UIC ... went 6-for-10 from the field at Eastern Illinois, finishing with a season-high 13 points ... pulled down at least four rebounds in 14 games.

High School - Four-sport athlete while at Andrean High School, lettering for four seasons in basketball, four in volleyball, two in track & field and one in softball ... earned honorable mention all-state selection as a senior ... an all-conference honoree in all of her four seasons at AHS, claiming first team awards as a junior and senior ... named to the all-area team after each season ... AHS leader for career (291) and single-season steals (102).

Personal - Born Natasha Zurek on July 11, 1992, to Stacey and Robert Zurek ... has two brothers, Mason and Codey ... her mother, Stacey, played basketball and volleyball at Carroll College.
