Jake Kitchell Becomes 20th Member Of The Indiana State Basketball Program To Be Named An Indiana All-Star

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - Incoming Indiana State freshman Jake Kitchell has been named to the 14-person Indiana State All-Stars roster. Kitchell is the 20th member of the Indiana State basketball program to be named to the Indiana All-Stars.

Kitchell is the second recruit by signed by fourth-year head coach Kevin McKenna's staff to be named to the Indiana All-Stars. He is also the fourth representative on the team to play for the Sycamores in the last seven seasons. ISU redshirt freshman Jake Odum was an Indiana All-Star in 2009.

Kitchell averaged 22.3 points and 15.9 rebounds for the South Central High School, despite often being double- and triple-teamed. He is the first Porter County Conference player named to either Indiana all-star team, also the first from his school.

He also averaged 3.3 blocks, 5.0 assists and 2.2 steals per contest this season.

Kitchell joins 13 other selections, led by Mr. Basketball and Ohio State-bound Deshaun Thomas of Fort Wayne Bishop Luers, who'll play the Kentucky All-Stars June 11 at Bellarmine University in Louisville and June 12 at Conseco Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.
