Sycamores Compete at Dennis Stark Relays

Terre Haute, Ind.—The Indiana State swimming and diving team opened their first ever season tonight as they traveled to South Bend, Ind. to compete in the Dennis Stark Relays.

Indiana State competed against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Wright State, Bowling Green, Olivet Nazarene, and fellow Missouri Valley Conference program Illinois State.

The squad of freshman posted an impressive performance in their official season opener. The first event of the night was the 3X100 Fly Relay where they Sycamores placed fifth edging past the Redbirds who came in sixth.

ISU came out above the Redbirds yet again in the 4X200 Freestyle Relay which included Jacquie Price, Courtney Skelley, Elisabeth Peskin, and Katherine Minatra.

Indiana State posted their best place of the night with a fourth place finish in the 3X500 Freestyle Relay.

The Sycamores also placed sixth and eighth in the 3X100 Backstroke Relay, seventh and eighth in the 4X100 Medley Relay, and sixth and seventh in the 4X100 IM Relay.

ISU is back in the pool tomorrow at 11:00 a.m. for a dual meet with Notre Dame.
