Indiana State Opens Conference Play at Illinois State

Terre Haute, Ind.—Indiana State women's soccer will open Missouri Valley Conference play on Sept. 23 at 8:00 p.m. as they travel to take on the Illinois State Redbirds.

The Sycamores are coming off a weekend in Ohio where they suffered two tough losses to Kent State and Toledo. The games proved to be physical as ISU recorded 22 fouls between the two matches and their opponents had 27.

Illinois State has recorded a 4-5-1 record and has won two out of their last three matches. The last time the Sycamores faced off with the Redbirds was on Oct. 29 of 2015 where Indiana State fell by a score of four to three.

Following Friday's match the Sycamores will hop back on the bus and make their way to Fort Wayne, Ind. to face off with the Mastodons on Sept. 25 at 1:00 p.m. The Sycamores and Fort Wayne have not played one another since 2014 where Indiana State came away with a two to zero win at home.

ISU currently holds a 4-6 record as they enter conference play.
