CHICAGO -- Indiana State posted the second-best round of the field for the second consecutive day as the Sycamores were paced by a third place finish from sophomore Thilda Staubo and worked their way up to fourth place out of the eight participating teams on the final day of the Loyola Fall Invitational. The event was held at the Flossmoor Country Club which features a par-72, 6,112 yard layout.
"We will look back on this tournament later in the year as one of the best things to happen to us," head coach Greg Towne said. "The course was on edge the first day in firmness and we didn't focus on what we could control and I didn't do the best job conveying how difficult the course would play. We are looking forward to getting back at it in two weeks at the Missouri Valley Conference Preview."
The Sycamores posted a final round of 319 which was the second best team score of the day for the second consecutive round. That followed rounds of 339 and 327 for a tournament score of 985 and a fourth place finish. ISU edged Chicago State (998), Evansville (1,000), Illinois-Chicago (1,017) and Green Bay (1,028).
