Terre Haute, Ind.—The Indiana State women's soccer team will play one away game this week and then return home on Sunday for their annual Bark in the Park day.
The Sycamores currently hold a 3-3 record with three shutouts for the season. Indiana State's defense has continually played a huge role. Goalkeeper Brittany San Roman has already racked up 32 saves with only eight goals against. Sophomore Katie Sullivan has also been making an impact for the Sycamores. Sullivan has started in every game on the back line and has been involved on the offensive side of the field as well. Currently she has four shots and has even added an assist.
On the offensive end senior Maddie Orf and sophomore Katie Wells have taken the lead for the Sycamores. Orf and Wells each have two goals, one assist and five points. Orf leads the team with a high of seven shots while Wells has added three more making her shots on goal percentage an impressive .667%.
ISU will travel to Indianapolis, Ind. to face off with the Butler Bulldogs on Sept. 8 at 7:00 p.m. Butler has a 3-2-1 record. Senior Serina Kashimoto is leading in nearly every offensive category for the Bulldogs.
The Sycamores then return home to take on the Chicago State Cougars on Sept. 11 at 2:00 p.m. at Memorial Stadium. Before the game the Indiana State University ROTC will present the colors.
This match will also serve as the annual Bark in the Park day for the women's soccer program. Fans are welcome to bring their dogs into the stadium and enjoy the game together. Donations will be accepted and are encouraged.
