ISU Travels to Eastern Illinois

Terre Haute, Ind.—The Sycamores with take on the Eastern Illinois Panthers on Sept. 4 at 1:00 p.m. Indiana State is coming off a home weekend where they were successful over Akron with two goals from senior Maddie Orf and then battled the heat only to fall to IUPUI on Aug. 28. ISU dropped their 90 minute battle with Northwestern on Sept. 1 by a score of two to zero.

Orf is now the leading point scorer for the Sycamores with five. The Missouri Valley Conference Offensive Player of the Week winner has an accumulation of two goals and one assist to start off the 2016 season. Other notable performances against Akron come from the Indiana State backline and goalkeeper Brittany San Roman as ISU has already earned two shutouts.

ISU played a tough defensive battle against the Northwestern Wildcats consisting of many blocked shots until the 73rd minute when Northwestern's Maddie Lucas turned from ten yards out and found the back of the net at the lower far post.

Northwestern tallied their second goal of the night in the 85th minute when Kassidy Gorman took a shot from 18 yards out to put the ball in the back of the Sycamores net.

On Sept. 4 the Sycamores are back on the bus to face off with Eastern Illinois. The Panthers have gotten a 0-3 start to the season and have scored no goals so far.
