Terre Haute, Ind.—This week the Sycamores will face off with the Northwestern Wildcats on Sept.1 at 8:00 p.m. and then the Eastern Illinois Panthers on Sept. 4 at 1:00 p.m. Indiana State is coming off a home weekend where they were successful over  Akron with two goals from senior Maddie Orf  and then battled the heat only to fall to IUPUI on Aug. 28.
Orf is now the leading point scorer for the Sycamores with five. The Missouri Valley Conference Offensive Player of the Week winner has an accumulation of two goals and one assist to start off the 2016 season. Other notable performances come from the Indiana State backline and goalkeeper Brittany San Roman as ISU has already earned two shutouts.
The Sycamores first hit the road to take on the Northwestern Wildcats. Northwestern is currently undefeated and sophomore Brenna Lovera is leading the way. Lovera is the Wildcats leading point scorer with six. She is also the leading goal scorer with three averaging a goal per game.
On Sept. 4 the Sycamores are back on the bus to face off with Eastern Illinois. The Panthers have gotten a 0-3 start to the season and have scored no goals so far.
Indiana State has not won an away game yet in 2016. The Sycamores have so far only played one away game where they fell to the Louisville Cardinals on Aug. 21. ISU will be looking for that first win on the road this weekend.
Go Sycamores!
