TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Indiana State Director of Athletics Sherard Clinkscales and President Daniel J. Bradley announced today (May 4) that Angie Lansing has been promoted to Senior Associate Athletics Director in addition to her continuing duties as the department's Senior Woman Administrator.
“It was very clear to me from day one that Angie is not only a talented administrator, but a loyal colleague whose first priority is serving our student athletes and coaches,” Clinkscales said. “Not only is her institutional knowledge critical as we advance the department, but she will provide me expert advice as I make decisions moving forward. This promotion is well-deserved and long overdue.”
Lansing recently wrapped up duties as Interim Director of Athletics, having served the university in this capacity from January through April. She most recently has been the Assistant Athletics Director for Business Operations. In her new role, Lansing will continue to coordinate the athletic department's business affairs and will now also lead internal operations.
“Angie is a great asset and will serve the university well in this expanded role. Together, Sherard and Angie make an incredibly strong leadership team. I look forward to working with both of them to continue to advance our athletics program,” said Bradley.
Lansing is in her 10th year on the athletic department's staff. A native of Batesville, Ind., Lansing (formerly Menser) was a standout track and field and cross country athlete at Indiana State from 1994-98. She was inducted into the Indiana State Athletics Hall of Fame in October 2014 as part of the 23rd inductee class.
She serves as the administrator for a variety of Sycamore sports including women's basketball, women's soccer, softball, women's golf, volleyball and women's swimming and diving as well as strength and conditioning. She also serves as the Missouri Valley Conference SAAC liaison as part of the conference relations committee.
“I am thankful to be able to work with our quality coaches and staff,” Lansing commented. “I appreciate the confidence in my abilities to lead our department internally. The future is bright for Indiana State Athletics, and I look forward to being part of this team as we move forward.”
Lansing serves on the local planning committee for the NCAA Cross Country Championships hosted by Indiana State. In 2014, Lansing was named to the NCAA Division I Track and Field Committee, an appointment which will run through 2018. She is currently serving a one-year appointment as the chair of the committee during the 2015-16 academic year.
