NORMAL, Ill. – The Indiana State baseball team received four All-Missouri Valley Conference selections on Monday (May 20) as announced by the league office prior to the start of the 2013 MVC Baseball Tournament. The awards are voted on by the eight head coaches from around the conference.

Redshirt senior Koby Kraemer was named to two All-MVC teams, earning Second Team All-Conference and All-Defensive Team selections. Junior Sean Manaea was also named Second Team All-MVC with senior Robby Ort and junior Kurt Kudrecki both receiving Honorable Mention All-MVC status.

Kraemer led the team at the plate during conference action, hitting .389 (28-for-72) in 20 MVC games with 11 doubles, 17 runs scored and 12 RBIs. The Terre Haute native had 10 multi-hit games during Valley contests, including a 3-for-4 effort with three doubles against Creighton on April 13. In the field, Kraemer did not make an error in 20 starts, totaling 37 fielding assists and 13 putouts from third base. For the season, Kraemer ranked third on the team with a .295 (51-for-173) batting average with 15 doubles, 28 runs scored and 28 RBIs.

Manaea started seven games during the Valley season, posting a 3-3 record and a 1.74 ERA, striking out 49 batters in 41.1 innings pitched. The Wanatah, Ind., product allowed just eight earned runs in his seven starts. For the season, Manaea carries a 5-4 record and a 1.74 ERA in 12 starts, striking out 93 hitters in 73.1 innings with just 12 earned runs. The Sycamore southpaw threw one complete game during the regular season, a 2-1 victory on the road at Minnesota on March 15.

Ort became the career leader in runs batted in at Indiana State against Bradley on Senior Day, capping a five-RBI afternoon on a record-setting three-run home run. The Newburgh, Ind., native enters the MVC Tournament with 201 career RBIs, one ahead of Boi Rodriguez (200 – 1985-87) in the ISU record book. Ort hit .309 (25-for-81) in MVC games, adding four home runs, 20 RBIs and 15 runs scored. For the season, the ISU senior tallied a .311 (60-for-193) batting average with six triples, 44 RBIs, 33 runs scored and 10 stolen bases.

Kudrecki has put together one of the best seasons in Indiana State history for a relief pitcher, entering the MVC Tournament with a 1-1 record and a 1.10 ERA with three saves in a team-leading 27 appearances on the mound. The Dyer, Ind., native has allowed just five earned runs in 41 innings this season, striking out 29 batters while allowing 30 hits. Kudrecki's 1.10 ERA is currently the best single-season total in school history, edging Brian Omogrosso's 1.51 ERA as a senior in 2006. The ISU junior leads ISU's bullpen with 16 appearances in 20 conference games, posting a 1.65 ERA with one save and 10 strikeouts.
