TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Senior Robby Ort made it a memorable Senior Day on Saturday from Bob Warn Field at Sycamore Stadium, driving in five runs to break Boi Rodriguez's career runs batted in record as the Indiana State baseball team topped Bradley, 16-7.

Indiana State finishes the regular season at 24-23 overall and 9-11 in the Missouri Valley Conference, entering the 2013 MVC Tournament as the sixth seed. The Sycamores will face third-seeded Creighton on Tuesday, May 21. Bradley will be the eighth seed in the conference tournament, dropping to 17-30 overall, 2-19 in league play.

The Sycamores took advantage of three errors by the Braves in the second inning, taking a 2-0 lead on a two-run double to redshirt sophomore Connor McClain.

Indiana State scored a season-high eight runs in the bottom of the fourth inning, sending 12 batters to the plate in the frame. Ort tallied his first two RBIs on a single to right, before McClain (one-run single), senior Taylor Shaw (two-run single) and senior Casey McCurdy (two-run single) continued the lengthy inning.

Bradley responded with seven runs in the top of the fifth inning, including a grand slam by Austin Bunch to get back within three runs, at 10-7 in favor of Indiana State.

The Sycamores pushed their lead to 14-7 in the fifth inning, as Ort capped the scoring with a three-run home run to right field. The three-run shot pushed Ort's career RBI total to 201, surpassing Boi Rodriguez's previous school record of 200 from 1985-87.

Redshirt senior Koby Kraemer capped Indiana State's first Senior Day victory since 2009 and first win in a home finale since 2008 with a two-run home run in the bottom of the seventh.

Ort (3-for-5) and McCurdy (3-for-3) each posted three-hit games with Kraemer (2-for-4) and senior Jordan Pearson (2-for-4) also picking up multi-hit games. Junior Tyler Pazik (1-1) earned the victory on the mound in relief of redshirt sophomore Greg Kuhlman.

The 2013 MVC Tournament begins on Tuesday, May 21, in Normal, Ill. Check back to GoSycamores.com for more game information on ISU's matchup against Creighton.
