LOUIS - The Indiana State women's basketball team placed three
student-athletes on the 2013 Missouri Valley Conference Women's Basketball
Scholar-Athlete team on Tuesday, as voted on by the conference's Sports
Information Directors.
Senior Taylor Whitley and junior Anna Munn led the way with first team
selections with redshirt junior Andrea Rademacher earning honorable mention
status. Munn was a second team honoree as a sophomore while Rademacher was
named to the honorable mention team for the second consecutive season.
Whitley became the 26th member of the 1,000 Point Club against Drake on Feb. 10
earlier this season and enters the 2013 MVC Tournament in a tie for 21st in
scoring at Indiana State with 1,080 career points. The Geneva, Ill., native
also ranks sixth in career steals (235) and seventh in career assists (367) at
ISU, one of only four Sycamores to be in the top 10 in career steals and
assists. Whitley leads the MVC by averaging 2.7 steals per game this season,
totaling 74 overall. The ISU guard ranks third on the team this season at 10.5
points per game and has scored in double figures in 18 games, including a
season-high of 20 points at Drake on Jan. 11. In the classroom, Whitley carries
a 3.79 GPA while majoring in Physical Education.
Munn leads the team and ranks fourth in the MVC in scoring this season,
averaging 14.7 points per game with 22 games of at least 10 points. The
Indianapolis native has posted some of her best games of the season away from
Hulman Center, going for a career-high 27 points on the road at Missouri State
(Feb. 1) and Southern Illinois (Feb. 16) this season. Munn also leads the
conference in minutes played, averaging 37.2 minutes per game on the court. The
ISU guard ranks third in the MVC with 68 three-pointers this season, sitting in
seventh place in Indiana State's career standings. In the classroom, Munn carries
a 3.74 GPA while majoring in Exercise Science.
Rademacher makes her second straight appearance on the honorable mention list
after also earning the honor as a sophomore. The Borden, Ind., native has
appeared in 20 games off the bench this season, going 6-for-15 from the field
and 4-for-6 at the free-throw line for 16 points and 16 rebounds. Rademacher
posted a season-high six points against UIC inside Hulman Center on Dec. 7. In
the classroom, Rademacher carries a perfect 4.0 GPA while majoring in Management.
Bradley led the MVC with four scholar-athlete selections while Indiana State
and Northern Iowa tied for second with three honorees each. UNI's Jacqui Kalin
earned the 2012-13 MVC Scholar-Athlete of the Year award.
Indiana State enters the 2013 MVC Tournament as the fifth seed and will match
up with fourth-seeded Northern Iowa on Friday, March 15. Tipoff is set for 3:30
