HAUTE, Ind. - The Indiana State football team did not
see either of their rankings in the prominent national polls change this week,
remaining at No. 23 in the FCS Coaches and at No. 26 in the Sports Network /
Fathead.com Polls.
This marks the eighth straight week that ISU has been ranked in the top 25 in a
national poll, continuing to set the program record for consecutive weeks in
the top 25.
Indiana State topped Missouri State in Springfield, Mo., this past weekend,
downing the Bears 28-20 behind sophomore Shakir Bell's 206 rushing yards and
two touchdowns. The Sycamores close out their regular season this weekend,
hosting the Salukis of Southern Illinois at 2:05 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 19. A
win against SIU will keep ISU in the mix for an at-large berth into the FCS
postseason tournament that begins on Saturday, Nov. 26.
Within the individual national rankings, Bell continues to lead the country
with a 153.3 per game rushing average, also leading the FCS with 1,533 total
yards on the ground.
As a team, the Sycamores are ranked fourth in net punting, average a net of
38.2 yards per punt.
